Exercise 15

Tools and functions

#1 along: When planning a marathon, determine where in town you need to place water stations if they need to be spaced as one per mile.

#2 destination: you are locating a point where you had a nice picnic last summer, but because it was not in town, you recorded its position in distance and degrees from two reference mountains.

#3 midpoint: your best friend lives far away, and you would like to see each other as soon as possible. Calculate your midpoint to minimize both travel times.

#4 GreatCircle: you would like to know what you saw out of the airplane window last week, so you use the GreatCircle tool to approximate your flight path and see what you flew over.

#5 lineIntersect: you want to know if you run the risk of running into your enemy while walking to class, so you analyze both your routes to find every possible place your paths could intersect.
